Section Manager - Finance Quality Assurance

The Section Manager for Finance Quality Assurance is responsible for improving financial work practices and ensuring compliance with company procedures, while leading a team that conducts quality assurance reviews and assessments.

Responsibilities
Formulate short, mid and long-term plans for the implementation of the USS Quality Management Program to help ensure compliance within the USS organization
Ensure the integrity of the USS organization controls to include the vendor/contractor payments process through the conduct of frequent detailed observations and document reviews
Oversee the completion and reporting associated with compliance reviews. Establish a process to track corrective and follow-up actions generated from reviews and incident reports
Work with other CEI quality assurance groups to develop and expand USS quality assurance efforts to best of class while limiting redundancy of quality assurance oversight
Prepares and issues internal reports that measure USS operating organization compliance performance and provides feedback to senior management on areas for improvement
Establishes data management systems to collect data from quality assurance reviews to share with the operating and support organizations. Identifies trends and provides analysis to put a focus on areas of concern. Prepares reports as requested by the USS Senior Vice President or his/her direct reports
Creates and sustains a diverse and inclusive work environment that fosters leadership, professionalism, honesty, concern, excellence and teamwork. Monitors and motivates the performance of subordinates and provides feedback for their development
Assists in the organization's business and budgetary planning and assumes responsibility for working within budget
Participates in compliance committees, procedure development committees, and training and OSA reviews
Takes a leadership role in the department's workforce development and training activities including, but not limited to, working with the Learning Center staff and the operating and support organizations in the development of the training programs
Review of historical trends and supporting the implementation of process improvements based on the reviews
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Applied Science, Accounting, Business, Finance, Law or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience
Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
3-5 years Experience in an operational, technical (i.e. legal or quality assurance) or utility field, required
Experience and understanding of corrective action development and root cause analysis, required
Must possess strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, required
High energy level, process orientation with proven ability to develop and implement innovative process improvement initiatives, required
Computer literacy required with strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products. Working understanding of various database applications, required
Demonstrated ability to lead, participate in, and manage teams, required
Driver's License Required
Preferred
Master's Degree Business, Finance, Accounting and 6 years of relevant experience
5-7 years Experience within a formal quality assurance or auditing environment, preferred
Project Management certification and Lean/Six Sigma or other Quality Assurance/Quality Management certification, preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Preferred
