Director of Payer Strategy and Contracting
Confidential Company is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Payer Strategy & Contracting to lead enterprise-wide initiatives that optimize payer relationships and reimbursement across their national network. The role involves overseeing payer negotiations, managing reimbursement performance, and aligning strategies with operational and financial objectives.

Responsibilities
Lead the development, negotiation, and renegotiation of commercial and governmental payer contracts across all partner sites
Collaborate with payer representatives and third-party administrators to establish favorable terms that support enterprise growth
Monitor payer market trends, rate benchmarks, and industry shifts to inform and adapt strategy
Analyze contract performance and reimbursement trends to identify areas of opportunity and risk
Partner with Revenue Cycle, Finance, and Legal teams to address underpayments, denials, and contract compliance issues
Lead the resolution of payer disputes and oversee appeals or escalations as necessary
Work closely with the Revenue Cycle, Finance, Operations, and Clinical teams to ensure alignment on payer initiatives and revenue goals
Support the integration of newly acquired practices or ASCs into company's payer strategy framework
Develop and maintain dashboards or reports to track contract effectiveness, payer behavior, and financial impact
Provide ongoing insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience, outcomes
5+ years of direct experience in payer contracting and negotiations, with demonstrated success in managing commercial and/or government payer relationships
Broad-based experience in revenue cycle operations, including billing, coding, collections, and denial management
Experience in multi-site healthcare environments, preferably within MSOs, orthopedics, or ASCs
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
