SRS Distribution Inc. is a national building materials distributor, and they are seeking a Purchasing Agent to provide analytical support to the Purchasing department. The role involves managing pricing information, improving processes, and facilitating communication between vendors and locations.

Responsibilities

Manage the retrieval, documentation, and remediation of wallboard & insulation pricing (possibly more categories in the future). Keep accurate and timely records of all pricing changes, organize prices. Effectively communicate pricing changes with all GMS locations. Facilitate effective communication between vendors and GMS locations. Work with the purchasing department, purchasing coordinator and accounting department to track rebates, credits, etc. Be accountable for over $50 million of vendor rebates. Assist in the creation and management of a rebates reconciliation process. Perform audits of received claims against contract numbers, purchase and net pricing, and product lines against active rebate contracts
Develop and analyze purchasing data, generate reports, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Organize and distribute product codes for new products, manage and organize existing codes (gate keeper for all codes)
Develop and maintain tools for product/product group and vendor margin analysis. Provide purchasing and pricing analysis for purchasing team to prepare for negotiations

Required

Bachelor's Degree emphasis in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Strong Microsoft office skills Experience using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts, creating tables and graphs, writing and using macros, and VLookUp & HLookUp and knowledge of VBA
Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute and/or delegate as needed, while also collaborating with others to get the job done
Establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization; invest in building relationships with the Field Operations and Field Support Center team members
