Responsibilities
Execute day-to-day purchasing activities, including creation, management, and closure of purchase orders
Monitor open POs, confirm delivery dates, and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time material availability
Coordinate with vendors on order changes, discrepancies, and delivery issues
Support cost control efforts through accurate purchasing, vendor coordination, and transaction discipline
Maintain purchasing data integrity within the ERP system
Manage inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations to support uninterrupted production
Forecast material requirements based on demand, usage trends, and supplier lead times
Investigate inventory discrepancies and partner with operations to resolve root causes
Support periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation activities
Collaborate with warehouse teams to resolve documentation issues and inventory variances
Process inbound material receipts and inventory movements within the ERP system
Maintain accurate batch records, transfers, and inventory adjustments
Create, receipt, and close batches associated with production and outbound activity
Prepare outbound orders for invoicing in coordination with accounting
Run and analyze reports related to open purchase orders, inventory balances, and open batches
Support month-end inventory reconciliation and resolve outstanding purchasing or inventory transactions
Partner closely with accounting to ensure accurate inventory valuation and clean period close
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments as needed to support purchasing and inventory activities
Work with internal teams and carriers to ensure materials are received accurately and on schedule
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience strongly considered
3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or materials-focused supply chain roles
Prior experience in chemical, specialty materials, or regulated manufacturing environments required
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency essential)
Experience with NetSuite ERP strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and transactional accuracy
Solid understanding of purchasing and inventory control processes
Ability to manage a high volume of POs and system transactions
Proactive problem-solver who follows issues through to resolution
Clear communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders
