The COO is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Airport, implementing strategies to support the organization's vision, and ensuring alignment with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Creating and implementing strategies in support of SDCRAA’s vision, mission and goals
Reinforcing the organization’s culture and enhancing the customer experience
Directing the day-to-day operations of the Airport
Developing and implementing all airport operations initiatives
Managing the Airport’s airfield and landside, airport security, public safety, facility management and traffic management
Overseeing terminal operations, including large-scale construction and renovation projects
Ensuring airport activities are aligned with those of airport users including tenants, governmental agencies, and customers
Evaluating the work of assigned departments and ensuring compliance with established policies, directives, codes, regulations and laws
Evaluating departmental activities and performance of individual staff members
Making and/or recommending adjustments, improvements or corrective actions, and coaching staff
Monitoring budget activities and maximizing budget allocations
Representing the SDCRAA at trade associations and local, state and federal meetings and conferences
Qualification
Required
College degree
At least 10 years' experience in airport operations, maintenance and planning
5 years' experience in a leadership role at a commercial service airport
Strong strategic thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead diverse teams
Skilled in assessing the needs of customers, tenants and employees
Experience allocating budget and staff resources to projects
Creating an inclusive work environment where all staff are encouraged to contribute their ideas and time
Preferred
Experience with international carriers
