Responsibilities
Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including AR/AP, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close
Maintain accurate and timely financial records in accordance with GAAP
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Manage cash flow, working capital, and cash forecasting
Design and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
Coordinate with external CPA firm for tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting
Support investor reporting, board materials, and ad hoc financial analysis
Build scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid growth
Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Support fundraising, due diligence, and investor data rooms
Provide insights on unit economics, margins, and profitability
Own and optimize financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Improve accounting workflows and automate processes where possible
Establish best practices for a tech-enabled, e-commerce business
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting or controllership roles
Experience in e-commerce, technology, startup, or high-growth environments
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proven ability to operate independently and take full ownership of financial operations
Excellent references from prior senior roles
Able to start immediately
Preferred
CPA or equivalent professional certification
Experience working with venture-backed or founder-led companies
Familiarity with investor reporting and fundraising support
Experience with modern accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Brex, etc.)
Strong Excel / Google Sheets and financial modeling skills
