Business Analyst (6 Month Contract)
firstPRO, Inc is seeking a Business Analyst for a 6-month contract position. The role focuses on providing support for reporting and operational improvement initiatives, acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain an inventory of both standard and custom reports used throughout the organization
Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit reporting needs and convert them into clear, actionable technical documentation for development teams
Design preliminary report layouts, wireframes, and visual concepts for Power BI dashboards and paginated or SSRS-style reports
Manage and prioritize reporting requests and enhancements through an active backlog maintained in JIRA
Validate report outputs through comprehensive testing, ensuring accuracy, visual consistency, usability, and compliance with internal standards
Coordinate feedback cycles between stakeholders and developers, tracking progress and resolving issues through to completion
Create, update, and organize documentation related to reporting assets, specifications, and usage
Contribute to broader process optimization and automation efforts by gathering requirements, producing specifications, supporting testing activities, and coordinating follow-up actions
Document current-state and future-state workflows, including system interactions and data movement
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness by analyzing reporting demand, user feedback, and system capabilities
Qualification
Required
5+ years of Business Analyst experience with consulting/financial services background
Experience operating within complex, enterprise-scale environments
Strong analytical skills
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and usability
Bachelor's degree with a business-focused concentration
At least five years of experience in a business analyst, technical project management, or comparable role supporting enterprise systems or complex projects
Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements that are easily understood by technical teams
Proven project coordination skills, including planning, organization, and stakeholder management
Strong background in business systems analysis and/or information systems
Familiarity with relational database concepts and enterprise data structures
Experience using project and work management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms, preferably within an agile delivery framework
Understanding of enterprise data models, table relationships, and data flows
Preferred
Prior experience in a professional services environment
Exposure to Aderant or similar professional services ERP systems is advantageous
Experience with MS SQL or other data analysis and querying tools is a plus
