Responsibilities

Mentor & Guide: You’ll provide direct support and professional mentorship to our Facilities Supervisor, ensuring the team is empowered, organized, and aligned with our mission
Strategic Oversight: You’ll coordinate maintenance priorities across multiple sites, watching for trends in work orders and stepping in to resolve complex facility issues before they disrupt our work
Be the Expert: Serve as the primary point of contact for all inspections, ensuring we are always up to code (OSHA, MOSHA, ADA, EPA, and NFPA)
Proactive Auditing: Conduct regular walkthroughs to catch hazards or structural needs early. When incidents do happen, you’ll lead the investigation to find the 'why' and implement lasting solutions
Preparedness: From seasonal readiness (snow removal and HVAC transitions) to emergency response plans, you’ll ensure we are ready for anything
Preventive Maintenance: Build and audit the schedules that keep our building systems running smoothly and extend the life of our assets
Vendor Relations: Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring their work is high-quality, on time, and stays within budget
Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with our Operations and Volunteer teams to coordinate logistics for special events, making sure facilities support—rather than hinder—our programs

Required

At least 4 years of progressive experience in facilities or operations
Experience managing multiple sites is a major plus
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
Deep understanding of OSHA General Industry standards
Comfortable with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, etc.)
Experience using digital work-order systems
Proven track record of managing vendors and supporting maintenance staff in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
Valid driver's license and readiness to travel between various Maryland facilities
