Responsibilities
Hire, train and mentor departmental employees
Conduct performance evaluations and solve internal issues as needed
Oversees the daily workflow of purchasing, inventory control, and distribution of materials and supplies
Develop and implement strategies for procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies
Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of materials while minimizing excess stock
Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Develop and manage budgets for materials and supplies
Implement and maintain effective systems for tracking and reporting on materials and logistics activities
Utilize Lean manufacturing methodologies to continuously improve processes and drive cost reductions
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
Strong leadership and team management skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite, logistics software and inventory management systems and other tools for data analytics
Independent decision making and problem solving skills, along with the ability to work independently or within a team
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Must be a team player that works with other departments or facilities to meet company goals
Ability to attend and participate in required company meetings
Preferred
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or minimum of 2 years of experience in materials management in a related field preferred
