Responsibilities
Evaluate incoming inquiries to determine and explain the next step to accessing care at Rogers
Complete Admission assessments with potential patients and/or their representatives
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of admitting processes
Understand clinical criteria necessary for admission to Rogers’ programs
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of all required admitting forms
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of policies and procedures related to bed assignment and capacity limitations
Describe levels of care within Rogers to potential patients and/or their representatives
Gather demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representatives
Understand how to utilize and explain Rogers’ contracted payor listing
Ensure all inquiries are entered in the designated system and all necessary information is captured
Ensure referral source information is obtained and entered for each inquiry
Ensure all clinical information is entered accurately into admission assessment tool
Ensure quality of call meets department standards
Ensure productivity meets department standards
Connect potential patients and/or their representative with outside resources when indicated
Collaborate with internal departments and external facilities/referents as it relates access to care
Pool employee will be expected to become familiar with Receptionist responsibilities and may be required to assist in that role when necessary
Complete other duties as assigned by Admissions leadership
Understand and apply policies and procedures in accordance with external regulatory agencies: Including, but not limited to: Joint Commission, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other regulatory agency compliance regulations
Attend and participate in development opportunities to increase involvement and awareness of regulations
Comply with Rogers culture agreements and all Hospital’s policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or human services field preferred
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in healthcare admissions or patient access, preferred
Completion of required trainings under Rogers' policies
American Heart Association CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Bi-annual re-certification is required
Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within sixty (60) days of hire/transfer. Annual re-certification is required
Computer skills (including but not limited to: utilizing multiple platforms, Microsoft applications, basic troubleshooting) required
Preferred
Electronic medical record software experience, preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
