Responsibilities
Design detailed metallic aircraft components and assemblies
Develop composite parts and bonded composite/metallic structures
Design 3D printed and injection molded plastic components
Manage large CAD assemblies using best-practice top-down modeling
Partner with FEA teams to analyze and optimize structural designs
Generate interface control documents (ICDs) and system requirements
Fabricate, assemble, and test prototypes you design
Work directly with vendors to manufacture flight hardware
Qualification
Required
BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS or PE a plus)
3–7 years experience in mechanical design engineering
Strong experience with composite part design and bonded structures
Familiarity with composites molding, machining, and additive manufacturing
Hands-on experience building and prototyping your own designs
Must be a U.S. Person status
Position requires on-site work and occasional domestic travel
