Responsibilities
Assemble and configure test fixtures, jigs, and mechanical components for proprietary metal processing trials
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and minor repairs on lab machinery while troubleshooting mechanical issues during tests
Prepare and operate lab equipment for proof-of-concept testing of customer-supplied metals in the proprietary process
Record detailed test data (e.g., temperature, pressure, cycle times, material properties) using digital logging systems and lab notebooks
Monitor tests for anomalies, perform basic troubleshooting, and maintain equipment calibration per ISO standards
Qualification
Required
Strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tabulation, basic metallurgy knowledge is a bonus
2 plus years experience working as an engineering technician working in a lab environment
Familiarity with metallurgical testing equipment (furnaces, tensile testers, spectrometers) and data acquisition software
Preferred
Associate degree in Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or related field experience preferred
