Responsibilities
Represent public entity clients in workers' compensation matters before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission
Handle files from inception through resolution
Attend and argue hearings and other proceedings
Take and defend depositions, including depositions of medical experts
Gather, review, and analyze medical records and other evidence
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Communicate regularly with claims representatives and clients
Provide strategic advice and case assessments to clients
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active Illinois Bar license required
2-5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience
Must have experience litigating matters before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission
Experience handling medical evidence and expert depositions
Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
Excellent communication and client service skills
Ability to manage a litigation caseload independently
