Responsibilities
Haul materials to and from job sites
Operate dump trucks with snow plow and salt spreader to work in the winter months
Operate a tractor-type mowing machine, assist in brush cutting, and use chemical sprayers
Use a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance activities, learn the basics of surveying
Flag for operations requiring traffic control
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification
Within 12 months of employment in this job classification, employees in this classification must furnish the agency's appointing authority with documentation that he or she holds a valid Class B commercial driver's license
Within one year of employment in this job classification, the employee must complete First Aid and Snow and Ice Training and must possess Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10 Certifications or equivalent
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification
Preferred
Experience working on rough terrain and in changing climates
Experience in equipment operation for road maintenance
Experience completing shift or on-call schedules
Experience in snow and ice plowing skills
Commercial Driver License
