Responsibilities
Haul materials to and from job sites
Operate dump trucks with snow plow and salt spreader to work in the winter months
Operate a tractor-type mowing machine, assist in brush cutting, and use chemical sprayers
Learning and assisting with basic surveying activities on construction projects
Flagging for operations requiring traffic control
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Must have two years of construction or highway maintenance experience
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must possess and maintain a Class B commercial driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification
The employee must successfully complete the KYTC Highway Technician Academy Level 1 or equivalent within one year of employment in this job classification
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification
Preferred
Basic equipment operating experience
Basic maintenance or construction experience
Experience performing preventative maintenance on vehicles or equipment
Commercial Driver License
