Family Support Coordinator
NEOGOV is seeking a Family Support Coordinator for Harris County Resources for Children and Adults, which has been providing support services since 1966. The role involves coordinating services for survivors of child sex trafficking, managing cases, and facilitating communication among various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Coordinates the ongoing Care Coordination for child sex trafficking survivors with their legal guardian, survivor’s advocate, law enforcement, District Attorney’s office, Children Assessment Center (CAC), placement providers, survivor service providers, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) staff and Juvenile probation staff
Maintains regular consistent (weekly/monthly) contact with survivor’s family/guardians as well as, all community partners involved with the service plan to ensure all parties are actively working in the development of change for the surviving youth
Engages the survivor’s family or legal guardian(s) into survivor centered services while acting as a guide and liaison between the caregivers and community service providers
Facilitates multi-disciplinary meetings to link survivors with resources in the community
Demonstrates effective networking and collaboration with community partners to facilitate coordinated service delivery and continuity of care across systems
Develops and maintains records management system to provide proper evaluation, control, and documentation of assigned programs and develops a multi-disciplinary case-planning document to guide services among agencies
Attends core trainings during the first year and afterwards attends 15 hours of trainings related to child sex trafficking
Participates in individual and group supervision monthly
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field
Minimum three (3) years full-time paid work experience working with children in youth-service agencies such as Department of Family and Protective Services, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults, The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD or Juvenile Probation
Minimum one (1) year full-time paid work experience participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings with at risk youth in either a juvenile justice, mental health or child welfare setting
Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Case Management Software
Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license (Texas) and auto liability insurance
Successfully complete the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) training assessments within six months of employment and maintain yearly certifications thereafter
Successfully complete the Child Sexual Exploitation Identification Tool (CSE-IT) and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) training within six months of employment
Ability to interact with youth, parents, advocates, staff, and community agencies
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to speak and interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds
Ability to provide direction and delegate responsibility to multi-disciplinary team participants
Ability to describe specific tasks, assign specific parties to implement, and solicit feedback on task progress before subsequent meetings
Ability to train, motivate, and develop partnerships with various partner organizations, new initiatives, goals, and processes involving multi-disciplinary collaboration
Ability to gather and provide timely guidance and feedback to help individuals strengthen their knowledge and skills
Knowledge of the specific population being served, child sex trafficking survivors, or knowledge of populations at risk of minor trafficking involvement, including children with a history of child sexual abuse, runaway, or involvement with the child welfare system
Knowledge of the community, competitors, and resources available to the program and its participants (survivors and at-risk minors)
Knowledge of county, state, and federal laws, Texas Family Code, statutes, rules, ordinances, and regulations governing children
Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of case management and administration, case management documentation, and records management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must possess the ability to interact with agency staff, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) staff, law enforcement officers, various social service agencies, collaborative partners, families, and concerned parents tactfully and diplomatically
Must possess good organization, reporting, and documentation skills
Ability to prepare and maintain reports
Preferred
Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Social Worker (LBSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Bilingual in English/Spanish
