Finance Manager
Saxe Doernberger & Vita, P.C. is a nationally recognized law firm dedicated to representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. The Finance Manager oversees the firm’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial performance while providing financial insights to leadership and managing accounting operations.
Responsibilities
Develop forecasts, budgets, and financial analyses
Monitor cash flow, revenue trends, and profitability
Lead initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
Oversee billing, collections, timekeeping accuracy, and compliance with trust/IOLTA rules
Manage AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, audits, and tax filings
Optimize financial systems and software tools
Lead the billing and collections teams to improve cash flow
Support partner compensation modeling and resource allocation
Improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting
Ensure compliance with tax filings, trust accounting, audits, and lender requirements
Mentor and lead the finance team
Report directly to firm COO
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of financial management experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
Experience with legal billing systems, trust accounting, and compliance
Proficiency with financial software such as SurePoint, Elite, Aderant, or Clio
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with high integrity
Strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, and team development skills
Preferred
Master's/MBA
