8+ years expP9 Cloud Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer to design, automate, and maintain cloud configuration and infrastructure management processes across enterprise-scale AWS environments. This role is critical for ensuring high availability, security, compliance, and governance of cloud platforms that support statewide services, collaborating closely with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain configuration management standards, policies, and processes for AWS environments
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of AWS resources
Automate and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and ACM
Ensure configuration consistency, security, and governance across Dev, Test, Stage, and Production environments
Optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline
Partner with DevOps teams to manage: Application releases and deployments, Configuration updates, Rollbacks and environment readiness, Ensure smooth and controlled release cycles across multiple AWS environments
Design and maintain automated AWS backup strategies to ensure data integrity, resiliency, and compliance with state retention policies
Implement automated patching workflows to maintain required security posture and compliance standards
Conduct periodic audits of: Environment configurations, Patch levels, Backup integrity, Certificate compliance, Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions
Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, including installation, renewal, rotation, and validation across AWS services
Ensure secure communication configurations aligned with state and federal security requirements
Collaborate with security teams to support audits, compliance initiatives, and risk mitigation
Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation covering: Configuration baselines, Terraform modules and standards, Environment changes and governance processes, Provide guidance and training to team members on: Terraform and IaC best practices, AWS infrastructure management, Backup and patch automation, Certificate governance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional training, certifications, or experience)
8+ years of experience in configuration management and infrastructure automation
Strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and ACM
Experience implementing cloud backup solutions and automated patching
Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and cloud security best practices
Preferred
Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
AWS and/or Terraform certifications
Experience working in state or local government environments
Experience with vendor oversight or vendor management
Familiarity with Agile delivery tools and project management practices
Experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM)
