SMCL - Big Lift Inspiring Summers Community Program Supervisor (Extra-Help) (Limited Term)
San Mateo County Libraries is seeking individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families by providing leadership and staff coaching at their Big Lift Inspiring Summers camps. The Community Program Supervisor will be responsible for supervising learning facilitators, providing direct coaching, and ensuring the program meets its goals to improve youth literacy outcomes.

Responsibilities
Plan, assign, review, and supervise the work of learning facilitators at one or more program sites; train staff and provide regular, active coaching to ensure facilitators are implementing program components to fidelity. Develop individual and team performance
Co-facilitate training for Inspiring Summers learning facilitators
Evaluate employee performance, coach employees on curriculum implementation, classroom management, and interpersonal work relationships, and effectively recommend initial corrective action and other personnel decisions
Spend the majority of time in classrooms daily, directly coaching learning facilitators and giving feedback
Ensure facilitator prep time is used effectively by scheduling regular check-ins with facilitator teams and working with facilitators to develop lesson plans
Lead regular staff meetings focused on classroom management strategies, curriculum implementation, and staff-related reminders
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, health care administration, a social science, or a field related to the program area to which assigned
Six years of increasingly responsible or supervisory work in the delivery of community, health, or social services, which has included responsibility for programmatic development such as planning, evaluating, monitoring, or coordinating projects, and supervising or leading support staff
The ability to develop strong partnerships with school district partners
Prior experience working with children, especially elementary school-age
Prior experience supervising staff and/or leading the work of staff
The ability to provide direct coaching to staff to strengthen program quality and meet program goals
Current or prior experience as a Senior Community Program Specialist or equivalent supervisor-level position in the County
Principles and practices of the specific program area to which assigned
Principles and practices of employee supervision and training
Principles and practices of program planning, research and evaluation, and contract monitoring and compliance
Specialized technical knowledge related to the assigned program area
Principles and practices of client service as delivery
Contemporary social, political, and economic trends and problems related to community services
Principles of engaging community and other partners in the provision of social services
Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and County and program policies and guidelines
Computer applications related to the work
Office administrative practices and procedures, including records management and the operation of standard office equipment
Basic budgetary and financial record-keeping techniques
Community resources, organizations, and programs
Plan, assign, supervise, review, and evaluate the work of others
Train staff in work procedures and provide technical and programmatic assistance to staff and subcontractors
Administer and coordinate programs, services, and activities
Foresee and analyze operational and/or administrative problems, consider alternatives, and recommend sound solutions
Supervise the development and evaluation of proposals and negotiation of contracts and agreements
Develop, monitor, and analyze program performance goals
Analyze, interpret, and apply various regulations and requirements
Communicate effectively in writing and orally and make public presentations
Prepare clear, concise reports, correspondence, and recommendations
Analyze information and situations and use sound independent judgment to make decisions and determine appropriate courses of action
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contracted in the course of the work
