Senior Client Accounting Manager
Confidential is a staffing agency looking for a Senior Client Accounting Manager for their client, a Top Entertainment Company. The role involves managing client and production accounting, overseeing trust-account activities, and maintaining strategic partnerships with clients and agents.

Responsibilities
Manage and oversee Client & Production Accounting Department
Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of Below-the-Line (BTL) client accounting, invoicing, payroll, trust processing, and payment reconciliations
Be in charge of all trust-account activity for high-profile and high-revenue BTL clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
Serve as the primary escalation point within BTL for complex client payment, payroll, tax, and contract-related accounting issues
Review and approve invoices for client hours, overtime, fringes, reimbursements, and production-related expenses before being submitted
Serve as a trusted partner to agents, ensuring bookings, rate structures, and deal terms are reflected accurately in billing and payments
Be in charge of Payroll, Trust & Compliance Oversight
Oversee setup of payroll portals, payment platforms, and production accounting systems
Ensure proper collection, maintenance, and distribution of client employment documentation, including W-2s, I-9s, loan-out agreements, and union paperwork
Maintain trust-account integrity and ensure payments are accurately recorded and disbursed in accordance with agency policies / legal requirements
Collaborate and work with legal team and finance team to ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and guild/union rules
Maintain Strategic Partnership & Client Relations
Be a trusted advisor to agents, assistants, and clients through proactive communication regarding payment status, cash flow timing, and balances
Build and maintain strong relationships with production accountants, payroll companies, studios, and other vendors
Proactively anticipate and resolve risks related to delayed payments, disputed invoices, or payroll discrepancies
Prepare and review / analyze weekly outstanding payment reports, and escalation reporting for finance leadership
Design set up and implement improvements to accounting workflows, reporting, and internal controls
Lead ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests for departmental/company leadership and clients
Partner and work with finance leadership on audits, system enhancements, and long-term client accounting strategy
Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and oversight of Production Accounting Managers and Client Accounting Assistants
Thoroughly review work for completeness and accuracy and effectively lead team members on best practices
Serve as an expert for client trust accounting and production-related financial operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field of study
Minimum of 7–10+ years' experience in client accounting and/or trust accounting
Prior accounting experience at a Top Talent Agency is required
Thorough knowledge and in depth understanding of Below-the-Line (BTL) production
Minimum 2 years of experience managing people
Proven ability to independently manage an extremely large volume of client payments and invoicing, department wide
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
MS Office with Advanced Excel skills
Tech savvy, able to learn, and adapt to new software easily
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Able to meet deadlines
Highly detail-oriented, extremely organized, and accurate
Preferred
CPA is a plus
Experience with Oracle NetSuite is highly preferred
