They are seeking a Data Analyst (Contract) to create and maintain data definitions, document datasets, support critical dashboards, and partner with product teams for reusable reporting. This role is remote and focused on delivering defined outcomes over a 6-month contract period.

Responsibilities
Create and maintain a shared data definition for key business and product concepts to ensure alignment between Engineering and business teams
Document and socialize metric definitions, entity definitions, and core logic
Document each dataset and its purpose. Capture key metadata: primary identifiers, join keys, refresh cadence, source system/vendor, and known limitations
Support critical dashboards and the underlying data models by confirming data flows, identifying nuances, and validating logic with Engineering
Create and maintain dashboards that monitor metrics across third-party products/vendors
Assist with UAT by creating comparison queries, validating outputs across systems, and investigating discrepancies
Inventory existing datasets and group them into clear subject areas (e.g., applications, servicing, marketing)
Partner with Product to convert repeat ad-hoc questions into reusable reporting (tables, views, dashboards)
Qualification
Required
3-5 years in data analyst role
Advanced SQL skills to build validation/debugging queries
Experience working with product analytics tools like Heap, Full Story, Amplitude, etc
Proven experience working with undefined datasets and turning them into reliable reporting
Strong ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders; comfortable creating shared definitions and resolving ambiguity
Experience building dashboards in common BI tools
Strong data hygiene: documentation, a consistent approach to QA/UAT
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements
Preferred
Experience in fintech or regulated environments
Familiarity with data modeling concepts
Experience working with event-driven architecture and/or multiple source systems
