Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation tools supporting outage coordination and power system analysis workflows
Automate VSAT and TSAT studies, including batch processing and scenario-based simulations
Integrate data from enterprise power systems and operational tools (EMS, PI, CIM-based systems, outage platforms)
Develop case preparation logic, including outage application, zoning, and stressed base-case creation
Build flexible scenario frameworks for defining transfers, contingencies, and faults
Produce analysis outputs, including margins, impact assessments, reports, and visual summaries
Contribute to GUI development (Tkinter preferred) for workflow execution and study management
Support validation, regression testing, benchmarking, and deployment activities
Collaborate closely with power system SMEs and internal engineering teams
Qualification
Required
3–4+ years of software development experience within the Power/Utility industry
Hands-on experience with VSAT and TSAT power system studies
Strong proficiency in Python for automation and tool development
Solid understanding of power system stability, transmission operations, and outage coordination
Experience working with structured engineering data and analytical workflows
Preferred
Experience developing Tkinter-based GUIs
Familiarity with EMS, PI systems, CIM data models, or outage management systems
Exposure to steady-state and dynamic power system modeling tools
Experience supporting visualization, dashboards, or graphical summaries of analytical results
