Responsibilities
Familiarity with the USCBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal and Descartes Visual Compliance (or similar export control screening management tool) is required
With respect to the ACE portal: (i) act as internal liaison for requests from OpCo trade compliance personnel regarding systems access; (ii) create reports within PowerBI with information extracted from the ACE portal, to facilitate internal review and auditing of entries; and (iii) run •ad hoc• reports on request
With respect to the Descartes Visual Compliance tool: (i) update training materials related thereto, and provide training for new users; (ii) manage user access requests; and (iii) create custom reports at the request of OpCos
In consultation with relevant members of the Law Department, consult on OpCo “Know Your Customer” (KYC) documentation from time to time, and assist in training new OpCo personnel in KYC functions and requirements
Facilitate trade compliance live trainings, webinars and internal bulletins; develop and deliver training on some aspects of trade compliance requirements
Manage trade compliance tools and resources on shared website for access by all OpCos
Interface with trade compliance tool suppliers to make sure that tools are used correctly and that updates are available from the vendor
Similar to ACE data, work with UK operating locations to consolidate and review MSS data on imports and exports
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience with Trade Compliance, global customs brokerage, exports/imports, and tariffs
Familiarity with the USCBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal and Descartes Visual Compliance (or similar export control screening management tool)
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years' professional experience
Extensive Trade experience working with export/import and tariffs (HTS) within a large manufacturing company
Prior experience in U.S. customs and trade compliance, in a public or private company
Demonstrated expertise with ACE Portal, PowerBI, and Descartes Visual Compliance (or a similar global screening compliance tool)
Preferred
Graduate degrees, legal or non, are a plus
Customs Brokers License is a strong plus
Exposure to customs brokerage practices is a plus
