Skilled Trade Specialist II - Carpenter

The Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking a motivated Carpentry Professional to join its Operations Division as a Carpenter. This role involves renovations, building inspections, graphic sign production/installation, locksmithing, and the installation/repair of various structures at the Dundalk Marine Terminal.

Responsibilities

Creating and installing signs and banners
Repairing, maintaining, and installing all types of doors and windows, including overhead garage doors
Repairing wharves and sea guards at marine terminals
Performing general building maintenance, such as roof, gutter, siding, and painting work

Required

Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Three (3) years of experience performing skilled trade work in the area of Carpenter
Employees will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
During the probationary period, employees will be required to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for Hazardous Materials valid in the State of Maryland
Employees in this classification will be required to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to gain unescorted access to Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration facilities
Employees will be required to satisfy the agency's training and certification requirements to obtain and maintain permanent status in this classification
