Utilities Crew Leader - Water
NEOGOV is seeking a full-time Utilities Crew Leader for water supply and distribution systems in the Village of Menomonee Falls, WI. The role involves leading daily field operations, performing maintenance and repair tasks, and ensuring the safe operation of water systems while responding to emergencies and coordinating with other departments.

Responsibilities
Performs repair of water main breaks, service leaks and curb boxes; performs installation of water meters, leak detection and inspections, and customer service complaint investigations and monitors the operation of wells, reservoirs and towers, hydrants and valves including data and water sampling collection
Monitor and Operate SCADA control systems as well as other technological equipment commonly used in the industry to monitor systems, track flows, pressures, cholerine residuals, well run times and storage tank levels
Provide information and data for rehabilitation projects (CIPP, water main breaks, flow data, etc.) and coordinate with Engineering Department
Use asset management and workflow software to enter information, evaluate data, establish and close out work orders
Coordinate with Deputy Director of Utilities to prepare daily work schedules and safety briefings; supervise lab, meter reading, cross-connection program, meter replacement & calibration, system maintenance and repairs
Investigate customer reports of backups, odors, or surface inflow; explain causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures to property owners
Cross training in maintenance and operation of a sewer system including inspection, cleaning, repair, and operation of gravity and force mains, manholes, lift stations, metering stations, and related telemetry systems to provide reliable sanitary-sewer service in full compliance
Perform routine servicing and light maintenance of equipment
Position requires occasional overtime work and carrying a cell phone on a rotating schedule for on-call assignments. Required to work weekend or evening hours as directed
Respond to call outs for utility emergencies and snow plowing within 30 minutes of the call-out. Crew Leaders are used as back up plow drivers (training will be provided)

Qualification
Required
High-school diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years progressively responsible work experience in water supply and distribution systems, preferably having two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role
NASSCO PACP, LACP, and MACP certifications (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Wisconsin Wastewater Collection System Operator (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Valid Wisconsin CDL Class A/B with air-brake endorsement; tanker endorsement with ability to obtain endorsement within 90 days of hire
DNR Waterworks certifications- Distribution, Grade 1
DNR Waterworks certifications- Ground Water, Grade 1
DNR Waterworks certifications- Iron Filter, Grade 1 (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Comprehensive knowledge of water system hydraulics, water system chemistry, water main break and service disruption response, consumer confidence report (CCR) and WDNR reporting
Comprehensive technical knowledge of water supply and distribution system operations and maintenance including well operation, reservoirs & towers, booster stations, chemical adjustments and system operations
Working knowledge of occupational hazards and procedures to enforce safe work practices
Familiarity with the basics of traffic control requirements and assist in maintaining and managing department inventory of supplies, materials, tools, signs, etc
Ability to train, direct, coordinate, schedule, review and evaluate staff and work
Ability to interpret related scientific and technical reports, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, sketches, descriptions, surveys and other documents
Ability to operate the following equipment: backhoe, front end loader to load trucks, and all single/tandem and quad axle dump trucks and use proper loading, unloading and backing techniques
Ability to plow with a single/tandem axle plow truck with front and wing mounted plows while operating a spreader and dump body for sand/salt application
Ability to independently analyze technical equipment and information to determine solutions
Ability to read, write and interpret documents including but not limited to safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports
Ability to use various computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Cartegraph, Asset Management Systems, GIS Systems and SCADA systems
Ability exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers, village departments, and citizens
Ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
Ability to exhibit critical thinking skills
Ability to work occasional overtime and rotational on-call assignments
Ability to work weekend or evening hours as directed
