Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll reconciliation, and General Ledger, month-end/year-end, etc
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Coordinate annual audits and tax filings
Lead the quarterly and annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts
Partner with division leaders to monitor financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements
Develop financial dashboards and key performance metrics for leadership review
Manage cash flow, credit, and banking relationships to support operational and capital needs
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and industry financial requirements
Support insurance, risk management, and capital planning activities
Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with the President and executive team to align financial strategy with business objectives
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Logistics, and Safety to support business unit performance
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the President and Executive team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred)
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or Controller role
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting, and accruals
High integrity and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Preferred
Experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation
