Responsibilities

Own the physical execution layer of aesthetic crown experiments and DOE’s for overall machine metrics and yield improvements
Act as the single point of accountability from crown prep → post-firing documentation
Ensure engineering can trust the data because the process was executed flawlessly!
Understand the Active DOE
Know what experiment is being run
Understand what problem we are trying to solve or prove/disprove
Understand what variable is changing
Understand what must remain controlled
Execute the workflow exactly as defined by the DOE Documentation or Test Method (doc)
Manage Pre-Milled / SAT Crown Inventory
Maintain awareness of which crown geometries are currently in stock
Maintain awareness of which geometries are required for upcoming tests
Prepare crowns via sandblasting / recycling or initiate or coordinate new crown milling
Ensure extreme precision on matching shades
Stay paired with the correct geometry
Never be mixed or substituted mid-flow
Ensure correct crown geometry is placed into the correct bin
Ensure each bin has the correct QR code
Track crowns through manual firing
Ensure fired crowns remain correctly identified and grouped
Take high-quality photos of each crown
Store completed crowns in the Engineering R&D locker
Maintain labeling and organization so crowns can be retrieved later for comparisons, audits, follow-up testing

Required

Must be available on-site in Provo (MST) within but not precisely core testing hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday to Friday

Execute the workflow exactly as defined by the DOE Documentation or Test Method (doc)
Manage Pre-Milled / SAT Crown Inventory
Maintain awareness of which crown geometries are currently in stock
Maintain awareness of which geometries are required for upcoming tests
Prepare crowns via sandblasting / recycling or initiate or coordinate new crown milling
Ensure extreme precision on matching shades
Ensure each crown stays paired with the correct geometry
Ensure no crowns are mixed or substituted mid-flow
Ensure correct crown geometry is placed into the correct bin
Ensure each bin has the correct QR code
Ensure pegging scans marry the design file → peg → physical crown
Use of Akribis and P&T User interfaces
Apply changes on machine parameters as printhead voltage, temperatures, etc
Ability to perform printer start-up in case it's not being used or in production
Ability and knowledge to check and ensure optimal printer operation before running tests
Track crowns through manual firing
Ensure fired crowns remain correctly identified and grouped
Take high-quality photos of each crown from multiple angles with consistent lighting and clear detail
Ensure photos are associated with the correct UUID
Ensure photos are matched to the testing sheet showing intended design outcome
Store completed crowns in the Engineering R&D locker
Maintain labeling and organization so crowns can be retrieved later for comparisons, audits, and follow-up testing

Preferred

Prior experience operating or supporting industrial equipment, printers, or automated machines
Background as a technician or field service technician is a plus, but not required
Basic familiarity with inkjet or printing equipment (loading parts, starting jobs, monitoring runs)
Comfort following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and checklists exactly as written
Ability to recognize when a machine or process is not behaving normally and escalate issues appropriately
Willingness to perform simple machine setup, startup, and recovery tasks under guidance
Experience working in lab, pilot line, or manufacturing environments with physical parts and traceability requirements
General mechanical aptitude and comfort working around equipment
