Corporate Counsel
Foundation Finance Company is a fast-growing consumer finance company working with home improvement contractors across the U.S. The Corporate Counsel role involves providing legal support to various teams, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance while minimizing legal risks.

Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, SaaS agreements, and other operational and vendor agreements
Assist the Vendor Management team and senior management with contract interpretation and maintenance
Perform legal analysis and provide legal advice on consumer-related legal matters (including UCC filings, consumer bankruptcy actions, and probate matters)
Provide litigation support, including by managing subpoena responses and legal holds, and by actively monitoring all collections-related litigation
Assist in the process of responding to consumer complaints, examination requests, and licensing matters, as needed
Review and revise policies and procedures where appropriate and evaluate business activity to determine compliance with applicable policies and procedures
Collaborate with the Compliance team, outside counsel, and/or third-party service providers to address and resolve project-specific issues
Work closely with business lines to identify and achieve desired business outcomes while minimizing legal risk and maintaining strong relationships within the organization
Provide support to the Company’s General Counsel on corporate legal matters
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Law degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction, with the ability to register as in-house counsel in the State of Wisconsin
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly
Must be able to take direction and work well with others
Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines
Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately
Must be able to react to change productively
Preferred
Minimum 2 years' experience, with in-house legal department experience and/or experience in the consumer finance industry preferred
