Workday Financials Developer/Analyst

Mid, Senior LevelTential Solutions is seeking a Workday Financials Developer to join a high-visibility financial systems team. This role involves owning the full lifecycle of Workday Financials solutions, including development, testing, and production support, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities
Design, configure, develop, and test Workday Financials solutions
Own end-to-end SDLC: requirements gathering, system analysis, development, testing, and deployment
Develop and maintain Workday reports:
Simple, Advanced, and Matrix reports
Calculated fields using multiple business objects
Support and enhance:
Revenue Management
Customer Contracts
Billing Schedules
Invoicing & Revenue Recognition
Perform production support, issue triage, and Root Cause Analysis
Participate in on-call rotation when needed
Review and assess bi-annual Workday feature releases:
Identify impact
Perform regression testing
Ensure no SLA breaches
Build and support integrations (Java / AWS backend exposure)
Work closely with:
Internal stakeholders
Workday consultants
Junior developers (mentorship expected)
Prepare and present status reports and communicate progress clearly
Follow testing practices using Kainos test automation tools
Qualification
Required
Hands-on Workday Financials experience (non-negotiable)
Strong functional knowledge in: Revenue Management, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Customer Accounts, Banking
Extensive experience with Workday Reporting: Custom Reports, Advanced Reports, Calculated Fields
End-to-end Workday lifecycle experience: Requirements, Configuration, Business Process Flows, Approval workflows
Strong production support background with RCA documentation
Workday Security expertise: Role-Based Security, User-Based Security, Security group troubleshooting
Experience using: JIRA (including JQL), Kainos test automation, JAMS Job Scheduler
Ability to work onsite in Rockville or Tysons, VA
Preferred
Exposure to Java and AWS environments
Experience with Vertex tax engine
Prior regulated financial services experience a plus
Workday certifications (experience matters more than certs)
