Composite Repair Technician (Aviation)

Hot Section Technologies is an FAA and EASA certified Part-145 repair station specializing in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components for the regional airline market. As a Composite Repair Technician, you will restore in-service aircraft components made from composite materials, performing structural repairs and cosmetic finishing according to FAA/EASA requirements and approved technical data.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces and tooling (clean, sand, prep molds/tooling; apply release agents/primers as required)
Execute wet lay-up/hand lay-up repairs including scarf repairs, core replacement, and contour restoration
Set up and monitor room-temperature and oven cures; verify time/temperature requirements and document results
Perform bonding/assembly work including inserts, core splices, and fasteners as required
Trim/finish to tolerance; apply primers/coatings/paint as required
Complete accurate work order documentation, including material batch records and process steps
Follow SDS requirements, use required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized workstation

Required

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years hands-on composite repair experience (Part 145, OEM, or military)
Experience with wet lay-up/hand lay-up, scarf repairs, and core replacement
Ability to interpret approved technical data (manuals, drawings, repair specifications)
Strong documentation habits and comfort completing regulated work order paperwork
Able to lift up to 50 lb; able to work in standing/kneeling/crouching/overhead positions
Able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
English proficiency (read/write/speak/understand)

Preferred

FAA-recognized composite structures training/certificate, A&P, or equivalent vocational training
Eligibility to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate for composite structures (as applicable)
Experience in regulated aviation environments with strong quality and compliance standards
