Law Practice
Responsibilities
Draft, format, and review pleadings, discovery demands, responses, motions, and correspondence
Utilize the firm’s case management system to track deadlines, filings, communications, and case progress
Prepare, e-file, and manage filings through NYSCEF, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
Ensure compliance with New York State court rules, filing procedures, and deadlines
Prepare and serve discovery requests and responses; communicate with opposing counsel
Maintain accurate, well-organized physical and electronic case files
Request, review, and manage medical records, bills, and lien documentation
Communicate professionally with clients, providing updates and obtaining necessary information
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, transcripts, and deposition materials
Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, IMEs, and court appearances
Manage attorney calendars and shifting priorities with accuracy and foresight
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation
Hands-on experience with case management software in a law firm setting
Familiar with NYSCEF filing requirements and New York court procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
Communicates clearly and professionally, both written and verbal
Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion
Adapts well to change and remains effective in a fast-evolving environment
Works well independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate
Experience with liens, medical records, and discovery in NY personal injury cases
