Responsibilities
Have the ability to provide design assistance to internal team
Setup, program, troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLC) systems/HMI and associated automation controls
Analyze, test and debug PLC code to ensure reliable performance
Safely perform point-to-point checkout per department standards, e.g., use multimeter to check continuity and/or resistance of sensors, verifying sensors with calibrated meters
Mentor lower-level technicians to maintain these standards
Take initiative and responsibility for the checkout of end devices, module configuration, and troubleshooting network related issues
Responsible for the startup of simple to complex HVAC systems
Understands various protocols that may be integrated into the building automation system
Able to make complex programs and graphic changes to meet specifications and sequences
Communicate technical issues to management, project managers and/or more senior level technicians
Maintain field markups and coordinate field markups from lower-level techs
Perform necessary database tasks such as backups, troubleshooting and exporting of files
Creates thorough daily reports
Mentors and set a good example for less experienced technicians
Communicate with jobsite personnel from other trades to complete project objectives
Works with commissioning agent to demonstrate system functionality
Complete weekly timecards accurately and timely by 8am every Monday
Qualification
Required
Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred
Experience in high-availability environments like data centers, hospitals, or government facilities
PLC programming and troubleshooting experience required. Allen Bradley preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation
Preferred
Prior experience with commercial control systems such as Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell preferred
