Director, Research Operations - Orlando Health Cancer Institute

Responsibilities
Directs and oversees the activities of the research program consistent with its strategic goals
Works alongside the medical director/leadership of research to operationalize new and existing research programs and initiatives
Provides direct oversight for the Clinical Research Program consistent with the overall goals of the institution, particularly as they relate to the pursuit and maintenance of accreditation and/or Centers of Excellence and consistent with the corporate goals of Orlando Health
Facilitates collaborations with satellite facilities of Orlando Health to promote the development of collaborative research programs
Advises physicians/investigators on institutional and federal guidelines for conducting research at Orlando Health
Manages contracts and budgets associated with these research activities within the parameters established by OH corporate legal and corporate research operations
Establishes and maintains department budgets of the research cost centers associated with the service line specific institute
Provides financial reports as requested by leadership
Oversees research revenue and expenses, including accrued revenue from individual clinical trials
Manages research managers and supervisors
Works with the medical director and specific service line institute faculty to maintain research working groups that are fully compliant with federal regulations and guidelines
Establishes immediate credibility with the highest levels of basic and clinical research leadership through a consultative approach to problem-solving
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Policy or Health, Health Sciences Research, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or Systems Architecture
Demonstrated ability to understand and leverage the similarities and differences between for-profit and not for profit, formission organizations
Seven (7) years of experience in research operations, clinical trial management, human subjects research, and Good Clinical Practices
Must be capable of working with faculty and institutional administration in a collaborative manner
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with demonstrated supervisory skills
