VLS Maintenance Technician I

They are seeking a VLS Maintenance Technician I who will play a key role in refurbishing canisters for the US Navy fleet, ensuring quality and productivity while adhering to safety standards.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Support quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives always
Adhere to a very high standard of housekeeping
Complete painting tasks with conventional (either gravity or siphon) fed spray guns
Read and apply appropriate paint formulas
Prepping, priming, and masking for refinishing
Operate forklift to move equipment
Proper handling of company tools
Apply imaging decals (stencils)
Properly complete all work order documentation
Execute the needed repairs without direct supervision and guidance while following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
0 to 1 year of experience sanding, priming, painting, and stenciling damaged automotive body parts or other steel body parts
Valid driver's license
Interim Secret clearance
Must be able to provide and share knowledge and skills with other employees at any given time
Must be cost-effective and show great concern for the cost of materials and parts
Must show the highest level of dependability, punctuality, and dedication as an employee
Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must have basic knowledge of how a HAZMAT program operates
Communication is necessary with the team and supervision
Must be efficient with using orbital sanders (DA)
Overhead crane experience is a plus
Preferred
Welding: MIG, TIG, and ARC (certifications are beneficial)
Fabrication
Painting/respirator (qualification is beneficial)
General mechanical repairs
Experience in commercial and military type Material Handling Equipment is desired
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to conscientiously follow written and verbal instructions
Proper use of standard hand tools and material-handling equipment
Ability to maintain a driver's license
Ability to lift boxes, packages, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds using proper equipment and lifting techniques
Physically fit with full use of arms, legs, and back
Ability to maintain required training and certifications
Ability to travel 20-30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
