Responsibilities
Develop high-quality software using the latest Java technologies and frameworks (Java 11+, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful services, Microservices)
Utilize modern engineering practices and methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, TDD, design patterns)
Front-end familiarity: strong working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern UI principles
Prepare and deploy applications in production AWS environments
Troubleshoot, respond to, and resolve issues in live systems with a focus on stability and reliability
Manage small to medium-sized projects independently; collaborate on larger, cross-functional initiatives
Build and maintain automated tests, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure software quality
Apply clean code principles, refactoring techniques, and best-in-class architectural patterns
Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless and scalable solutions
Contribute to a culture aligned with organizational values, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily with Java and related ecosystems
Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and Enterprise Integration Patterns
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, including schema design and performance tuning
Solid understanding of Agile Methodologies, including Scrum or XP
Strong knowledge of design patterns, refactoring techniques, unit testing (JUnit, Mockito), CI/CD, Git
Experience working with Linux and open-source technologies
Preferred
AWS Cloud experience highly preferred
Financial services background—especially in mortgages or mortgage-backed securities, is a strong plus
AI engineering exposure, including use of AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar) and/or building AI-powered features, is preferred
