Responsibilities

Independently perform dosing via oral gavage (PO) and intraperitoneal (IP) routes according to study instructions
Observe, document, and report clinical signs or adverse events promptly
Conduct routine and study-specific health monitoring in accordance with IACUC-approved protocols
Perform essential husbandry tasks: cage changing, providing food/water, and maintaining housing enrichment
Maintain meticulous laboratory records, including daily health checks, room environment readings (temp/humidity), and facility maintenance logs
Perform tumor volume measurements via caliper and record body weights
Accurately input all measurements and data into Studylog
Collect biological samples (tumors, blood, organs, etc.) as required by study designs
Maintain a pathogen-free animal research facility through regular cleaning and sterilization
Operate specialized equipment (with training) including changing stations, autoclaves, and hydrogen peroxide vaporizers
Restock supplies and ensure general vivarium organization

Required

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Previous experience working with mice in a research or laboratory setting is required
Technical Skills: Proficiency with in vivo mouse dosing (PO and IP)
Reliability: Must be able to consistently and independently work a Thursday–Monday schedule, including holidays
Communication: Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions in English; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Zoom
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, and maneuver heavy carts
Location: Ability to reliably commute to Redwood City, CA

Preferred

Experience with advanced dosing (SC and IV) and tumor inoculation
Proficiency in terminal blood collection and necropsy tissue processing (formalin fixations, ethanol transfers, and flash-freezing)
Prior research experience with mouse models of cancer (Oncology)
Familiarity with software tools: Studylog, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
