The candidate will represent clients in various high-stakes business litigation and will be responsible for drafting motions, conducting legal research, and preparing for trials.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Drafting and reviewing motions, pleadings, discovery, and others
Conducting in-depth legal research
Communicating effectively with clients
Arguing law and motion
Taking and defending depositions
Preparing witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
Preparing trial documents such as jury instructions
Second-chairing trials (and eventually first-chairing them)
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate degree
Professional references from other attorneys
Active member of the California Bar Association, with no history of bar discipline or suspensions
Between 3 to 6 years of experience as a civil litigator (with experience in the relevant duties outlined above)
Must be willing to work independently without direct supervision and meet and exceed expectations regarding timeliness of work product
Proficient computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, One Drive, Teams, and Clio)
Strong legal research skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Self-starter who can handle multiple projects and files simultaneously
Effective time management
Preferred
Experience working with complex legal issues and complex matters (i.e. large number of parties and attorneys)
