Lead CNC Machinist/Programmer

Clark Personnel is seeking a Lead CNC Machinist/Programmer to join a growing and dynamic team. The role involves programming and operating multi-axis CNC machines for complex parts and tooling, utilizing CAM software to optimize machining efficiency, and ensuring precision in all machined components.

Responsibilities

Program and operate multi-axis CNC machines (5-axis) for complex parts and tooling
Utilize CAM software, primarily Mastercam, to refine toolpaths and optimize machining efficiency
Translate blueprints, CAD files, or reverse-engineered parts into accurate CNC programs
Perform gear machining programming for spur, helical, worm, bevel, and spline gears
Apply solid understanding of tooling selection, toolpath management, feeds, and speeds
Reverse engineer parts from scans, prints, or samples into machine-ready code
Program and operate horizontal boring mills, CNC lathes, and milling machines
Troubleshoot and resolve CNC programming or setup issues
Ensure precision and accuracy in all machined components
Collaborate with the production team to meet quality and timeline goals

Required

5 to 7 years of advanced CNC programming and machinist experience
Must have previous experience in a machine shop or shipyard with operating CNC machinery
Proven experience programming multi-axis CNC machines and proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam strongly preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
Multi-axis CAM programming (5-axis)
Proficiency in Mastercam or equivalent CAM software
Gear machining programming expertise
CAD literacy and blueprint interpretation
Toolpath optimization and cutting tool selection
Knowledge of G-code and CNC setup/troubleshooting
Reverse engineering skills
Strong attention to detail
Problem-solving and adaptability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
