Responsibilities
Storage Design & Implementation: Assess requirements, design, deploy, and manage SAN, NAS, and DAS systems. Optimize data access and cost efficiency with tiering strategies (SSD, HDD, cloud). Monitor capacity, utilization, and performance
VMware Virtualization: Deploy and manage VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, virtual switches). Create and maintain VMs, ensure resource allocation, and implement HA and FT for reliability. Monitor and optimize performance
Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies for storage and virtual environments. Test recovery processes and maintain documentation. Ensure data protection and compliance
Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide support for storage and virtualization issues, diagnose and resolve problems, and participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents
Infrastructure Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Implement automation and scripting for routine tasks and stay current on best practices
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering with a focus on storage, servers, and VMware
Strong knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, tiering)
Proficiency with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, HA, FT)
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or storage-related certifications
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation
Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery tools and concepts
