8+ years expDiversified Systems is searching for a Senior Software Configuration/Release Engineer who will be responsible for automating and maintaining cloud configuration and infrastructure processes across AWS environments. This role ensures highly available, secure, compliant, and well-governed cloud platforms through effective automation and collaboration with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes, policies, and standards for AWS environments
Build, deploy, and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of AWS resources (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
Manage and optimize multiple environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Prod) ensuring configuration consistency and security
Support automation pipelines using the AWS Code Suite: Code Commit, Code Build, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline
Work closely with DevOps teams to support release activities, deployments, rollbacks, configuration updates, and environment readiness
Design and maintain automated AWS backup solutions to ensure data integrity, resiliency, and compliance with state retention policies
Implement automated patching workflows for cloud infrastructure to maintain required security and compliance posture
Conduct periodic audits of environment configuration, patch levels, backup integrity, and certificate compliance; recommend and implement improvements
Manage installation, renewal, rotation, and validation of SSL/TLS certificates across AWS services
Ensure secure communication configurations and alignment with state and federal security requirements
Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of configuration baselines, IaC standards, module usage, and environment changes
Provide training and guidance to team members on Terraform, AWS infrastructure best practices, backup strategies, patch automation, and certificate management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent professional training, certification, or experience
8+ years of configuration management experience, including:
Proficiency with Terraform and IaC methodologies
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
Experience with cloud backup solutions and automated patching
7 years of engineer working closely with DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams to support stable, reliable statewide services required
3 years of experience building, deploying, and enhancing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle
7 years of experience supporting automation pipelines using the AWS Code Suite: CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline required
7 years of experience designing and maintaining automated AWS Backup, Patching solutions to ensure data integrity, resiliency, and compliance with state retention policies required
7 years of experience managing installation, renewal, rotation, and validation of SSL/TLS certificates across AWS services required
3 years of experience maintaining detailed, accurate documentation of configuration baselines, IaC standards, module usage, and environment changes required
3 years of experience providing training and guidance to team members on Terraform, AWS infrastructure best practices, backup strategies, patch automation, and certificate required
Preferred
Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation within AWS/Terraform
AWS Certification(s) and/or Terraform Certification
Experience working with state or local government environments
Experience with vendor oversight or management
Experience with project management or Agile delivery tools
Experience with organizational change management (OCM)
