Responsibilities
Creatively tell stories across SDPB tv, radio, and online platforms
Assist various producers with creating video packages on local arts, cultural, and entertainment topics
Produce stories on their own in cooperation with the entertainment team goals
Qualification
Required
Proficient with video cameras, lighting for television and editing video content
Knowledge of multi-camera production process and equipment
Ability to work nights and weekends
Ability to stand for long periods of time operating video equipment
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Knowledge of social media sites and ability to creatively post content
Knowledge of multi-camera production equipment and procedures
Knowledge of South Dakota
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced news situation and provide accurate information to our audience
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Proficient with Adobe software bundle or other editing software
Video and audio editing skills
Ability to capture and edit both video and audio media to create feature stories
Ability to apply professional techniques to a production
Ability to assess lighting needs and set up accordingly
Ability to ensure proper shot composition and sequencing and edit work into a complete package to be presented across all platforms
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to know a story when you see it
Ability to travel overnight and across the state
