National Sales Manager

Wieland Group is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution. They are seeking a National Sales Manager to lead all commercial activities for their North American centrifugal casting operations, focusing on developing and executing the Go-To-Market strategy, nurturing customer relationships, and driving key account growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute Go-To-Market Strategy for Wieland’s GX North American centrifugal cast operations
Manager, Customer Experience
Execute and manage the national sales efforts and teams = internal sales engineering and outside sales rep agencies
Sales & Customer-Driven: Builds meaningful relationships and aligns resources to meet customer commitments

Strategic Leadership: Help develops and implement strategic plans to further Wieland GX business unit’s mission, promoting revenue, profitability, and sustainable growth
Utilizes data-driven decision-making to assess market trends, identify expansion opportunities, and craft strategies to capitalize on them
Problem Solving & Decision Making: Proactively identifies and understands customer needs— business, technical, and social—and applies creative and analytical skills to develop effective solutions that enhance satisfaction and support business goals
Build Talent & Teams: Assist with building and harnessing highly talented diverse teams, coaches, and develop others, understand team dynamics, and strengthen the overall capability of the organization
Inspire & Influence: Builds and sustains excellent relationships at multiple levels in the organization and with clients. Skilled in leading by example, fostering collaboration, and delivering compelling arguments to influence and engage others effectively
Drive for Results: Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver strong business outcomes while managing multiple tasks, balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders, and addressing various interests effectively
Provide strategic direction and support to the sales team for the go-to-market fundamentals, strategies, and expectations within the sales structure
Assist with the strategic direction and ensure the successful execution of the sales and marketing programs
Business Results: Assist with developing annual budgets and achieving targeted sales volumes and margins for the business unit. Establish sales goals and forecasts and evaluate performance against plans for both volume and fabrication
Customer Visits and Relationships: Oversee all customer strategies, plans, and relationships within the business unit, supported by the team
Pricing & Agreements: Lead and facilitate customer agreements, including pricing arrangements. Conduct competitive analysis to inform pricing policies and contract strategies, product positioning, and go-to-market plans to increase market share
Business Development: Identify and drive business development opportunities in collaboration with the Business Development, Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams
Assist with the management of product development to maximize customer acquisition, pricing, and operational efficiencies
Intel: Gather and disseminate market intelligence, track, and report on competitive activities, and determine the most effective channels to the market = OEM, machine houses, and distribution
Forecast: Oversee and manage the commercial forecasting and S&OP process for the centrifugal operations, with support from the team
People: Define sales coverage and go-to-market strategy. Lead, develop, and manage commercial efforts, including overseeing talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, and succession planning for operations
Provide sales coverage and strategic account management. Enhance and maintain strong customer relations of existing area accounts through personal visitation and regular communication
Identify and pursue new sales leads for core products and developmental products
Provide regular, timely, and concise customer reports on customer activity
Work closely with inside sales, quality, and supply chain contacts, support customer relationships, and provide a high level of service and responsiveness
Monitor pricing competitiveness, establish and execute supply contracts, maintain oversight of customer credit limits, etc
Provide both strategic and tactical insight and recommendations to the GM and other GX North American commercial management, to increase sales and profitability for the organization
Role will require extensive travel to customer locations across North America

Required

10+ years of relevant industry experience
A proven history of collaborating effectively across Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain, and being proficient with systems (ERP, APS) & applications (MS). Demonstrated ability to understand and translate customer needs into revenue-generating opportunities
Analytical mindset: The candidate needs to be able to analyze data and events to identify opportunities and address inefficiencies, while facilitating timely and effective decision-making based on thorough research and sound judgment
Commercial Excellence and Growth Focused: The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of sales strategy, which is shaped by a customer-centric approach. They will be adept at identifying opportunities and unmet needs, developing strong customer relationships, and leveraging field information to drive engagement and growth
BS/BA preferred or equivalent experience
Must have or exhibit the ability to recruit, train, manage, and oversee talented and capable direct departmental employees
Works independently and is proficient in meeting the goals and objectives of the corporation
Shall have proven and tangible organizational and time management skills and be willing to work extensive hours to accomplish corporate initiatives
Must be able to travel extensively and possess a valid and non-encroached driver's license

Preferred

Knowledge of copper-based, nickel-based, stainless, aluminum, cobalt, or related metals or technical processes preferred
Knowledge of centrifugal and/or continuous casting strongly preferred
Familiarity with oil/gas, aerospace, defense, or relevant industries preferred
