Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving functions and working closely with our carriers partners
Works closely with management and personnel at the corporate office
Maintain control of inventory and equipment
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Responsible for the security of property
Ensure the branch operates in an efficient manner by utilizing effective methods of packing, set-up, delivery, pick-up of book fairs; utilize capacity planning and staffing methods to assure optimum productivity
Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment while focusing on minimizing work-related injuries and auto losses, complying with OSHA guidelines, and Company directives
Training, developing and evaluating warehouse personnel and supervisory staff
Execute Company policies, procedures, and programs in a professional, effective, and timely manner
Qualification
Required
5+ or more years of managing a warehouse team with proven leadership preferred
Exposure to all key facets of distribution operation is required
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP software
Experience with forklift, stock picker, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment a plus
Problem solver with a ‘can do' attitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and handle deadline-oriented tasks
