EMS Quartermaster - Part time
NEOGOV is seeking an EMS Quartermaster responsible for the planning, coordination, procurement, distribution, and inventory control of medical supplies and equipment for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This role is critical in ensuring EMS personnel are equipped and operationally ready to provide emergency care. The EMS Quartermaster will also support logistics during emergencies and collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain inventory and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Plan, procure, receive, store, issue, and track EMS medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals (as applicable), and uniforms
Maintain accurate inventory control systems to ensure appropriate stock levels, accountability, rotation, and timely replenishment of supplies
Inspect, maintain, and coordinate repair or replacement of EMS equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Monitor expiration dates and ensure proper handling and disposal of expired or damaged supplies in accordance with applicable regulations
Maintain records related to inventory, purchasing, warranties, equipment lifecycle management, and asset accountability
Coordinate logistics support for EMS operations, training activities, special events, and emergency responses
Assist EMS leadership with supply forecasting, budget preparation, cost tracking, and vendor management related to EMS supplies and equipment
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing EMS equipment, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals, as applicable
Operate City vehicles and equipment as required to transport supplies and materials
Communicate effectively with EMS personnel, supervisors, vendors, and other City departments
Operate within the NIMS/ICS framework during emergencies, disasters, and planned events requiring incident management
Provide logistics-related support consistent with ICS Logistics Section principles, including resource ordering, staging, tracking, accountability, and demobilization
Coordinate with the Logistics Section Chief, Supply Unit Leader, or designee when ICS is activated
Support sustained EMS operations before, during, and after emergency incidents, including multi-agency and mutual aid responses
Utilize standardized NIMS terminology and procedures during incident operations
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years of experience in logistics, inventory management, supply coordination, or a related operational support role
Experience in emergency medical services, fire, or public safety operations may substitute for formal education
Ability to function effectively within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
Completion of required NIMS/ICS coursework, or ability to obtain within a timeframe established by the City
Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred
Associate degree or coursework in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, emergency management, or a related field
Prior experience supporting EMS, fire, healthcare, or public safety operations
Familiarity with EMS equipment, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and applicable regulatory requirements
Experience using inventory management, asset tracking, or emergency logistics software
Advanced ICS training (e.g., ICS-300) or logistics-focused emergency management coursework
