The Corporate Counsel intern will work in the Employment Law and Investigations department, conducting investigations, drafting reports, and assisting in-house counsel, while also gaining exposure to various areas of Corporate Counsel.

Responsibilities
Investigating and analyzing complaints from associates stemming from Publix’s internal processes, discharge resolution, and formal complaint procedure
Drafting reports at the conclusion of investigations
Representing Publix at unemployment compensation hearings
Assisting in-house counsel, management, and Employment Law Investigators with various tasks
Qualification
Required
must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May
must be pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree and completed 1L and entering 2L year
basic knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, Excel
strong written and analytical problem-solving skills
strong interpersonal and communication skills
strong organizational skills to complete assignments in a timely manner
high level of maturity, judgement, and tact
valid driver's license
willingness to work long hours at times and travel when needed
