Departmental Assistant-MSM-FT Days
Mount Sinai Health System is one of the largest academic medical systems in the New York metro area, and they are seeking a Departmental Assistant to perform clerical and administrative functions for the department. The role involves answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring confidentiality while providing support to the clinical staff.

Responsibilities
Answers the telephone
Makes patient appointment for physicians (computer scheduling)
Routes clinical questions and emergency calls to clinical staff or physician according to established policy
Greets patients, obtains and verifies patient information and enter them into our computer by using eClinicalWorks Computer System
Reviews patient’s paperwork for completeness and requests any missing information
Create and updates patient records accordingly
Pick up daily Mails
Observes strict confidentiality in dealing with callers
Updating patient record as necessary. Refer to Manager questions re: patient’s insurance policy
Provide coverage for office clerk when needed to assist putting patient into the examination room
Prepare charts for next day’s patient appointment for all physicians
Prepare and send welcome package for new patients for all physicians
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred
Associate's Degree preferred
2-3 years Administrative Assistant experience preferred
