Responsibilities

Good communication skills & knowledge of basic shop math
Able to read, write and understand basic instructions in English
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly
Ability to follow direction
Ability to complete first piece verification
Maintain a good attitude and be willing to learn
Communicates effectively with other team members and Production Team Leader
Ability to become certified in lock out/tag out
Be familiar with Human Performance tasks
Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating (where applicable)
Knowledge of all measuring instruments and gages for their operation
Able to speak effectively before groups of co-workers, customers, auditors, etc
Able to read and interpret blue prints
Working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principles
Able to comply to all SPC daily Requirements (if applicable)
Able to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of the Tooling Specialist as required
Able to cross train in other areas as required
Able to understand and meet department goals & metrics
Participate in ABS Kaizen events as required
Must be able to use hands frequently for tool prep
Able to operate hydraulic press in a safe manner
Understands high exposure to oil
Able to interface with Planning, Heading and Engineering
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or verbal from blue prints and or sketches
Able to work accurately to meet precise tolerances of (+ - .001). Material knowledge of tool steels and carbide
Maintain proper identification of parts and ensure accurate, reliable records are documented and maintained
Able to perform basic set-up of one tool room style machines (precision hardinge , sunnen hone, etc.) with minimum assistance
Able to work on carbide dies
Performs dimensional inspection by using micrometers, indicators, calipers and comparators, and other precision instruments as needed
Set-up and operate any and all Tool Room machines, including lathes, Hones, Presses, Surface grinders and Tool & Cutter
Able to work accurately to meet precise tolerances of (+ - .00025)
Determines from blueprints, the work order tooling requirements needed to produce part (tool)
Able to prioritize work order for machining center operated
Able to recommend repair, maintenance, or replacement of equipment
Able to support other shifts for tooling needs as required by business

Required

Minimum 7 years of tooling experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
