Business Immigration Paralegal

Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP is a national law firm focusing on labor and employment defense. They are seeking an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to prepare and manage employment-based immigration cases and communicate with corporate clients regarding immigration processes.

Responsibilities

Lead communication and coordinate with clients to gather required documents for filing applications
Draft forms and support letters for review by attorneys and senior team members
Prepare petition and application packages for final review and signature by attorneys before submission to government agencies
Organize and maintain accurate records in immigration case management systems for all assigned matters
Review intake documentation needed for specific case types to ensure accuracy and completeness
Identify problematic cases and discuss strategies and/or solutions with Sr. Paralegal/Attorney
Perform case matter billing duties
Manage status of all filed applications and finalize documents
Perform research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, standard processing times, etc
Initiate contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information; alert Sr. Paralegal/Attorney regarding potential process delays/problems
Prepare internal caseload reports for management

Required

1+ years of business immigration experience
Bachelor's degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to execute and work well with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors and correct work and the work of others
Superior client service skills
Effectively able to prioritize cases, caseload and other assigned tasks (i.e. projects, company management responsibilities, etc.)
Ability to meet deadlines and goals

Preferred

Experience with Docketwise, Immigration Tracker, or similar immigration case management software is highly desired
Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) software and ability to create, edit, modify, redact, and protect pdf files
