ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Del Mar College is seeking an Associate Director of Marketing to lead the creative team within the College Relations division. This role is responsible for managing marketing materials, overseeing campaigns, and ensuring alignment with college brand standards and enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end creative production for paid media (search, social, display, streaming, print, OOH)
Own timelines, briefs, and QA
Coordinate ad asset creation and delivery with agencies and internal partners to ensure on-brand, compliant, and deadline-driven execution
Directly supervise the Graphic Design Specialist and Videographer
Set priorities, review drafts, coach for quality and speed, and facilitate collaboration to fulfill requests from departments and strategic projects
Oversee and when needed produce branded materials (viewbooks, flyers, brochures, program sheets, swag)
Ensure messaging/design align with brand standards and enrollment strategy
Manage production schedules and vendor relationships
Own marketing for Viking Fest, One-Stop Saturdays, Parent Nights, Open Houses, and similar recruitment events
Drive timelines, creative, landing pages, and channel plans
Equip ISD partners and internal teams with turnkey toolkits (emails, flyers, social copy, web updates) and distribution schedules to maximize attendance and conversions
Track RSVPs, show rates, and post-event enrollment outcomes
Serve as primary point of contact for creative/marketing needs
Maintain shared intake process, set expectations, and communicate milestones/status to internal clients and leadership
Own CRM content across journeys (inquiry application enrollment retention)
Build segment-specific messaging for Dual Enrollment, Continuing Education, First-Time-in-College, Adult Learner, Freedom to Dream, etc
Implement A/B testing and nurture logic
Attribute performance and report cost-per-RFI, cost-per-application, and cost-per-enrollment with clear dashboards and insights

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or related field
Five (5) years of experience in professional marketing roles, including supervisory experience managing creative staff
Experience in digital advertising production, CRM-based campaign workflows, and vendor management for print and promotional items
Deep understanding of campaign execution and creative asset development across digital, print, and video
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Admissions, Outreach, Events, and academic departments
Understanding of student recruitment funnels, especially for FTIC, adult learners, CE, and dual credit
Proficiency in creative production workflows and collaboration platforms

Preferred

Master's degree in marketing, strategic communication, or public relations
Previous experience in higher education marketing and recruitment
Familiarity with Element451 or similar CRM systems
Experience in video production workflows and social media content development
