Unit Manager, Michigan Security Operations Center (MiSOC)

Responsibilities

Supervises the technical staff and contractors involved in the monitoring of risks, vulnerabilities, and threats to the critical IT infrastructure for all state agencies
Oversees security functions relative to monitoring of intrusion logs, incident responses, IT security systems operation, and digital forensics and mitigation strategies necessary to reduce IT security risks
Responsible for selecting and assigning staff, conducting staff meetings to discuss programs and projects, and identifying staff development needs as they relate to the goals of the division and the department

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree with not less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Programmer/Analyst or IT Project Coordinator 12
Candidates selected for this position must complete the Michigan State Police background check
An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, project management, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; and three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst 12
At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure, Project, or Programmer/Analyst 12
